PTFA

At SJS we're very lucky to have such a great team on the PTFA. Every year they organise the Christmas and Summer Fairs to raise funds for extra resources for the children at school to enjoy. In addition, they work tirelessly throughout the year with the voluntary support of parents and carers to organise and run our year-round programme of fundraising events for the pupils and their families, such as:

  • Movie Afternoons
  • Annual Disco
  • Christmas Shop
  • Easter Egg Hunt & Raffle
  • Mothers’ Day Shop
  • Fathers’ Day Shop
The PTFA also buys the Home School Diaries and Year 6 Leavers’ Gifts.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the team who, over the past few years, have contributed towards the cost of new furniture for the library, playground equipment, the creation of an outdoor music area, new books for shared reading within the classroom, and an amazing £16,000 to help purchase additional year group iPads and class smart board cameras to enable us to meet as a Wolf Pack for assembly during Lockdown.

We would love you to join in and get involved by giving as much or a little time as you can spare. Please get in touch. Follow the PTA on Twitter: @friendsofSJS, Facebook: Friends of Sandwich Junior School

Our Values

At Sandwich Junior School, the pupils and staff uphold our Core Values, which are at the centre of our school ethos and all that we do. They were first established by the pupils of our school, who chose specific animals that they felt represented the values and attitudes they should show every day, at school and at home:

The Wolf

Working together as a Wolf Pack, we are a community. Helping peers in difficult times, and celebrating our successes.

The Salmon

We always try our best – showing resilience, we never give up. We are always striving to reach the top and take risks with learning, as that is when we make our biggest leaps forward.

The Eagle

Aiming high to achieve the best we can be, and soaring high to reach our potential.

The Dolphin

When children enjoy their learning, they will achieve more.
